Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
Shutter Island

I don't normally read detective novels but this one came highly recommended. I was not disappointed and had a difficult time putting it down. Two U.S. Rangers conducting an investigation on a remote island during a hurricane. Twists and turns throughout the book and an amazing ending. I'm planning to read more Lehane novels.

The Perfect Mile: Three Athletes, One Goal, and Less Than Four Minutes to Achieve It

As a runner, I found this book to be captivating. As a reader, I was enthralled from the beginning even though I knew the outcome. A well written story of an exciting time in sports history.

The Pop-Up Book of Phobias by Gary Greenberg and Balvis Rubess and Matthew Reinhart
The Pop-Up Book of Phobias

Finally a compelling pop up book for adults. The artistic nature of this book is enough to recommend it but it's value is clearly in the creative engineering of the pop ups. From the opening dentist's drill to the menacing snake it is an entertaining well crafted book. Buy it for the therapist or phobic in your life. If they happen to be the same person then buy them two copies.
